Air Force Museum

Each time we go to Ohio we always say we want to make it to the Air Force Museum but some how never make it.  This time we did.

Just by doing some research I knew that we would be doing some walking and that we would get to see a lot of cool things.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought we would see as much as we did.  The place is huge.  Massive.  We spent almost 4 hours there and still didn't see everything.  My fully charged camera ran out of battery because we took so many pictures.  Between my dad and I we had over 300 pictures.  I know that we are trying to plan another trip there. Out of the 11 exhibits we saw 7 of them.  If you are ever near the Dayton area it is a must see.  Just be prepared to take a lot in.

Funeral, Family and Easter

We decided to go to Ohio for Easter since we weren't sure if we would be able to make during the summer.  Turns out we had to leave a few days earlier than expected because my grandmother passed away a few days before we were to leave.  We knew that she wasn't doing well but it was still a bit of a shock when I got the news.  At the funeral was the first time the Brian was able to meet my dad's step side of the family.  Not exactly how I pictured it.

My grandpa's sisters were able to come to the funeral and I was able to talk to them and ask them questions about the Robertson side of the family and to see if there was anybody else in the family that I could talk to to get more information.  They were able to give me some information and I was able to give them some.  Why is it weddings and funerals is when you get together and you able to talk to family members that you haven't seen in ages.  We should really do it more often.

While we were in Ohio we went to the Columbus Zoo and the Air Force Museum.    I'll post more about the museum for a later post.  There is just too much to talk about with the museum.  The trip to the zoo wasn't too bad.  It was sunny and wasn't to overly crowded.  Lukie got to ride a train for the first time and we were able to see the Polar Bear exhibit.

On Easter we had an Easter Egg hunt in my parents back yard.  Lukie seemed to like it.  But I think we was more interested in the candy than anything else.

Chicken Coop

A while back Brian had brought up the idea of getting chickens.  He thought it would be "neat" to raise a few and get the "experience".  At the time we thought that we needed to have a rooster in order to have hens.  With a rooster, we didn't want the chance of it attacking Maggie so we agreed not get them.  A few weeks ago Brian informed me that we were getting 2 chickens at the end of April.  We did not need a rooster in order to have hens.  Needless to say I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea.

I thought if we are going to have chickens then at least I would like a little say in the chicken coop that we got.  We both did some research and found a website called Catawba Coops.  I bought the plans and Brian and his dad put the coop together.  It turned out really nice.  All we have to do now is stain it and it'll be finished.
